 Air pumps can be used for many different things in your aquarium. You can use them to increase your water circulation and surface area for proper gas exchange, adding oxygen to the water, increasing surface agitation, decorative ornament, or adding decorative air bubbles. An air pump may also be used to power aquarium equipment such as protein skimmers, sponge filters, undergravel filters, and corner (box) filters.
