Reef Octopus Extreme HOB Skimmer / OCT-BH800SBSThe Extreme skimmers are powered by the high performance Italian Sicce pumps. The skimmer has a wedge pipe output which allows for more adjustment of the skimmer compared to ball valves. The Sicce pump has an improved venturi design and soft pinwheel impeller. The skimmer also includes a piece of mesh and yellow impeller to allow the option of mesh modding their pump. The skimmer produces up to 35scfh – 37scfh of air pull using the provided pinwheel impeller. (Air results will vary depending on aquarium setup.) Each Sicce pump draws less than 30watts of electricity. The collection cup has a quick release neck for easy removal for cleaning. It requires 1/2 inch of clearance to remove the cup. The Extreme skimmers uses metric plumbing parts.

The BH-100SS is similar to the BH-100 but instead of having the skimmer pump taking water from 4 inches below the surface of the aquarium this model has a surface cup that allows the protein rich surface water drained into the surface collection cup which allows for better protein skimming efficiency. The Reef Octopus® skimmers are powered by the Hailea OTP pumps. They are built with high quality acrylic. The Octopus skimmers uses metric plumbing parts. The pump has an improved venturi design and pinwheel impeller. CoralVue developed a new pinwheel impeller that is being provided on all of the BH100ss skimmers as of June 1.
